I am on schedule. Ahead of schedule, even! Amazing.
My NaNo novel this year finally has a name: Another 3 Minutes
It’s progressing very well. My idea was to have most of the novel take place in May… but until about 1000 words ago it was still winter. Excellent. Although it’s never happened, I dread the thought of nearing the end of NaNoWriMo and having no more to write.
There is a lot of writing advice on the ‘net, and during November there’s quite a bit of chatter about NaNoWriMo. Most of it is inspirational, because the most important thing is to just keep going. I doubt there are many writers who could NaNo all the time or who would want to. The point of NaNo is to write quantity, not quality (although some can do that at the same time — I’m not one of ’em).
My favorite NaNo content during the event has to be the messages and pep talks from NaNoWriMo. a) They come to my email inbox so I don’t have to go looking for anything or go without inspiration (err, except that’s not working right now). b) They are usually funny, inspiring, and well written. And sometime they are written by authors I actually know! Makes you feel special. They care about you. All NaNo-mice care about all the other NaNo-mice — we’re in this together.
Why mice? I have no idea. I shouldn’t be spending time here!
Ciao~
(I think I used NaNo as an adjective, verb, and noun in this post. Yay for English :p )
